You know some of us complain about stations going Christmas so early..but doing this station in Tahoe we have been getting request from many of the retailers that we have contracts with asking us to go all Christmas as soon as possible. You all must understand that alot of the sales we do with retailers keep us going (paying the bills) and they would like us to go Christmas to play in the stores so they don't need to worry about the music part of the seasons. We are only AM (not in stereo ) but I think we are going all christmas sooner then we expected due to the requests....Need to keep the folks that keep the station happy and we have been getting requests from listeners as well November 12th we will be 24/7 Christmas until January 1st 2008 We had some fun jingles being made up (KTHO) Tahoe's HO HO HO Station

That makes a lot of sense. The retailers are putting stuff out, so they want people "in the mood" when they hear the spots. Do any of your regular clients pipe your signal into the store itself?

Ho Indeed. Radio works out much better when the light bill has been paid. ;D

Thanks for confirming my suion that there is little or no public groundswell of demand for extremely early Christmas music -- the demand is all for the advertisers who want people to get in the shopping mood ASAP. Sort of like the dog that was trained to salivate every time it heard a bell ring.
