Yeah, this is gonna be an interesting poll. Which station do you feel has done the most to improve themselves over the past year? Don't like that option -- who do you think sucks? Be specific and honest, since this has no bearing on radio, you can be mean.

KSVN-CA. They increased their signal reach w/ a move to Farnsworth and have added local news bits here and there.

CRAP...I was trying to modify the poll for the correct call for channel 4 I guess it won't let me do that
I agree with Sam
Also this is a place to discuss TV as well so no need for anyone to be mean

I'll add a vote for Comcast in Weber. They've gone from virtually nothing on the public access and gov't access channels to a noticeable amount of programming. The public access channel 3 even runs one of KUED-DT's subchannels to show PBS Kids for 6 hours in the morning.

Congratulations to the newly re-imaged "UEN" TV network.
KULC killed those call letters in favor of the more logical (with this new consolidated program of telecourse, Internet, etc.) KUEN.
There's now: KUED-TV KUES (DT) KUEW (DT) KUEN KUER-FM

I didn't consider digital programming in my vote, since except for the table scraps that Comcast puts on Channel 3, I haven't seen any of it.
I therefore voted for KUTV. I think their move to Main Street has really blown their imaging and recognition through the roof, and they are giving KSL's news dominance a run for the money.

I'm going to have to agree. They become #1 in everything but the 10PM slot, after figing with FOX for 2nd for years. I think stations in this market need to take notice, and realize you just can't box yourself up in a corner with a fake backdrop anymore.

KSL is apparently worried... just look at what they've gone and done! deseretnews.com/dn/view/0,1249,595091990,00.html Also, Fox 13 has new CG equipment in use on all their newscasts. edit: KSL's version of the story (with video): tv.ksl.com/index.php?nid=8&sid=120096

All i can say is, I didn't think those rumors about the mormon mafia were true... until today. "Hi there! We're just going to plant ourselves in one of the few big buildings in Provo, along with our good friends The Deseret News for no real reason." Give me a break.
All they're doing is telling everyone else "hey, we're in two cities at once, beat that!" I give it a year before someone else puts an office in St George.

Despite all its flaws, Clear Channel's ABC4 already has a "mobile" office in St. George. They have a large satellite truck w/ a Southern Utah correspondent and promote it as the 'mobile' Southern Utah news bureau. I hope that isn't a bunch of bunk... but then in this modern age *Shrug*

I'm not sure what is "new" about this. Back at some point in the 80's, KSL-TV had a news studio in Provo, in an office building on State Street midway up the hill to Orem, if I remember correctly. At that time, they also had an Ogden news studio, which was actually located in Sunset, Utah, near Roy. Both studios had dedicated staffs, as did the news studio in Washington, D.C. (but that staff also worked for the various Bonneville radio stations and KIRO-TV). Apparently, they got rid of those studios during budget cutbacks, so the news that they now have a new studio in Utah County is merely getting back to what they used to have.

I'm not sure what is "new" about this. The article says that this is the first time all 3 entities (KSL(AM), KSL-TV and the Dizzy News) have been in the same place.

A total shock considering they're all pretty much owned by the same people. Who would have thought they all would have gotten office space in happy valley?
