The first victim of the FCC's witchunt, Bubba was cleared to go back on air, as well as being on Howards Sirius Channel, he continues to add affiliates, on terrestrial radio, he's landed another market -- Dayton. 95.3 the Eagle (WZLR), a Classic Hits station licensed to Xenia, OH (rimshotting Dayton from the southwest)

Too bad Stern doesn't come back to terrestrial radio. Yes he's crude, but he is immensely talented. If I were a SLC owner, I'd put him on the air with a press release first to KSL. The publicity generated from the news would be worth more than a million dollar ad campaign. I would position the station as SIN FM. It would not be anti-Mormon, but just position it as the NON-MORMON alternative. Imagine all the bars, cabarets and other adult businesses that would drop a dollar there? And demographics of SLC proper seem to bolster the idea.
Risky? Yes. But it might work. It's a question of research. Would I patronize the businesses that advertise there? No. But I am open-minded enough to think that there are those who would.
I can just imagine it, creating a sweeper: "Some claim Salt Lake City is heaven (cue Mo-Tab), others say "Aw hell! Can't we just have fun? (Cue: ACDC Hell's Bells.).
On the other hand, looking at hot talk ratings these days, may not be the smartest idea.
Now a disclaimer: Some of what I say is said for sake of provoking discussion only. I already have received 2 PM's telling me that I am a sicko for this post. Sometimes, writing something a little edgy gets posts, and that's what I do.

Hot Talk is Almost non existent! thats kind of why this Bubba thing is such a big deal, at least to those of us that loved hot talk, the only ones really left on terrestrial radio were the morning shows, Lex & Terry, and Bob & Tom, Mancow even lost his flagship for awhile, the only thing that saved him was TRN had just sank MAJOR!!! money into a syndication contract like 2 weeks before Q-101 canceled his show, I loved it when he was on here, and thought he could have thrived here, had he had some legitimate backing and time to do so, he really isn't Hot Talk anymore, as his show is 90% political, Opie & Anthony have also started picking up terrestrial markets, but have not tried very hard to branch out, as they seem to be doing well on XM, now with the greatest Hot Talker in the biz, out of the biz, (at least in my opinion)I'm starting to get very curious what Tom Leykis plans on doing, I thought it was very amusing when KALL was running Leykis at midnight back when they were Hot Talking it, I thought that 97.5 could have been a very positive thing if it had been ran by somebody who knew what they were doing, but it was pretty obvious from the start, whoever was programming it, wasn't programming it for high ratings??? Stern will never go back on terrestrial radio, a real hot talk station marketed and ran right would thrive in the liberal Salt Lake Market, but through it all, I thought the one thing that would have happened by now, that hasn't, would be the picking up of Phil Hendrie! I thought it was a no brainier, but nobody has yet, and just cause he doesn't do the edgy stuff he had been, he's still an incredible, unique, one of a kind talent, who I really miss listening to, maybe some new wave of Hot Talkers will rise up, but it wont be anytime soon, with no major backing, and by the way, does anybody know if KLO picked up the entire run of Dennis Miller after O'Reilly cashed it in? I haven't been able to hear what they did.
