I have noticed that KSL has been running house ads during the Olympics for its new owner, Deseret Media. deseretmediacompanies.com/Links to the videos are on the right-hand side. (Sorry, this site is built completely from Flash and thus I can't provide a direct link.) The ad labeled "microphone" is the one for KSL radio. Who is the person speaking in it? He doesn't match any of the photos on the KSL radio personalities bio page. Somebody in management? Or just a hired actor? Same questions about the man in the KSL TV ad. www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=317So, the new corporate structure for KSL radio and tv is: KSL Television and Radio (despite ksl.com still incorrectly listing Bonneville International as the owner at the bottom of the site pages) is now a division of Deseret Media, which is a division of Deseret Mangement www.deseretmanagement.com/?nid=4) which is a division of the Corporation of the Presiding Bishop of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Presiding_Bishop_(LDS_Church)

Can you say Goodbye Hannity? Goodbye to (some of) NBC's programming?
Listening to these videos/promos, it seems to me that KSL-A/F and KSL-TV are heading in a much less "confrontational" direction.

Maybe the FCC has not yet approved the Change of Ownership paperwork and that is why the KSL website is still listing Bonneville as the owner.

It would be the same difference anyway, as all three broadcasting groups are owned by the same owner, the LDS Church, as follows.
KSL-AM-FM-TV, Deseret Digital Media KBYU-FM-TV, BYU KSFI, KRSP, Bonneville Holding Company
All three, if you look at the ownership data, show the LDS Church as ultimate owner of the three station groups.

Heard an ad on FM 100 today from Deseret Media. This ad listed their properties, and I was surprised that this list included FM 100. I had thought that FM 100 was going to remain with Bonneville. Had I misunderstood that, or is FM 100 going to Deseret Media a recent change in plans? What could this signal for 103.5?

Oh yeah, I remember now, Gen Con. was showing that IRI copyright on the screen for a few years now, but still says that it's PRODUCED by Bonneville. (Lloyd announces as usual, that it's a production by Bonneville.)
________THE CHURCH OF ________ JESUS CHRIST _____OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS
_________Produced by ___Bonneville Communications © 2009 Intellectual Reserve, Inc. _______All rights reserved.
But still, now that we're actually seeing commercials about Deseret Media Companies, I wonder if they'll change something on the Bonneville section of that to include or be replaced by "Deseret Media Companies" or something like that, while the IRI section will stay the same. Whaddya think?
So tell me more about © IRI vs. © LDS. You say that they could've just used "© The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints" and avoided the problem you described. Right? Yet, they still created IRI for the purpose you describe. I don't get that. How is IRI more helpful than just using the full name of the church?

I didn't claim that I knew WHY the LDS Church uses IRI to hold title to its intellectual property. I'm not a lawyer. As for Bonneville Communications, I don't expect anything to change just because KSL is no longer directly under Bonneville International. The BonCom division of Bonneville International still exists, and still has the assignment of producing Church PSAs and paid media advertising, General Conference broadcasts, and Music and the Spoken Word. KSL broadcasts General Conference on an unpaid public service basis just like all of the other broadcasters involved: www.bonneville.info/order/index.cfm
