Looks like they made it happen. Yesterday was the first day with local HD. The video looks good, but now they need to work on the lip-sync. The audio is a little behind the video. Any one else notice this?

A couple of weeks ago, I was in Washington, DC on business and in a hotel room with an HD television. Turns out that only one DC television station broadcasts local news in HD right now. I would have thought that in a large market like theirs, it would have been all, or nearly all, of the stations. So SLC is by no means trailing at the end of the parade.
BTW, one of the DC local news stations was proclaiming that in one week it was going to start its morning news broadcast at 4:30 a.m. (as opposed to the then current 5 a.m.) I guess that is one thing that SLC local stations are not going to do anytime soon. Other than radio morning show DJs, I cannot picture there being that many early risers in SLC to want live local news that early.

I think this is a HUGE improvement for channel 4! As a former (avid) viewer, it's about time they built a new set and improved their graphics. It would have been nice if the station would have done this when they hired Ruth Todd. Remember the set and graphics back when KTVX was in their old studios around the corner?
And although Karen Carlson and Robert Maxwell are new to Utah, I think they are doing their best when they are up against Bruce and Nadine and Mark and ****.
Good job, ABC4...
