KADQ 98.3 Evanston, which as far as we know has been largely silent since it got its license to cover, has now gotten a CP to move to Humphreys and rimshot the metro. Here's a predicted contour map from radio-locator.com: www.radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/pat?call=KADQ&service=FM&status=C&hours=UThis will kill the translators on 98.3 that exist up and down the metro, mainly the ones for KVFX in Salt Lake and KLGL in Utah County. We could see displacement apps for both, probably to 99.9 in both cases, but especially for Utah county for KLGL. KVFX has two choices, 93.7 and 99.9 (translator displacements apparently trump apps), and it is possible they could lease the 96.7 transmitter as well in Salt Lake. And the other question, what format will they take seeing that the rock space is very much oversaturated. Soft AC? Smooth Jazz? an urban format of some type that will be more urban than U-92 has been the last few years?

So looks like Frandsen bought this, it was one of the things left over from the Devine bankruptcy, part of the whole 05-243 mess.
Would not be surprised that when they are ready to put the new transmitter live there is a change in calls and format. Could see the classic rock format stay, but with the apparent failure of KAAZ to garner an audience anywhere near what anyone else is getting rignt now with straight classic rock, I don't see how that would fly with a rimshot that gets most of the metro.
KAAZ has been finishing dead last and not gaining among commercial rock stations in the metro.
As to 05-243 and the mess left over. CC cancelled all its CPs for moves one notch up on the dial, (105.7 to 105.9, 106.5 to 106.7) blocking the Simmons 105.1 CP move to Farnsworth and the Simmons 105.5 CP move-in to Humphreys. 95.9 has yet to move as Frandsen has not moved that to 99.9 as supposedly happened, and there's some other stuff that can't be done until 107.5 moves to Farnsworth.
