During a week of upheaval inside the Sonics' front office, radio play-by-play announcer David Locke became the latest employee to be fired. The team removed his posts from its Web sites on Friday, terminated his two-year contract and notified employees of the decision in an e-mail. seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/sports/2003759343_soni23.html

Explain relevance to Utah radio, por favor...
I'm not being flip, just wondering.
Thanks.

The only thing I can see if that the games are on KTTH (The Truth) which is being purchased by Bonneville. The station can't even be heard in Salt Lake due to KKOB, so that kinda only leaves one place for it.
It's probably a drive-by posting, so I wouldn't worry much about it.

The reason why it matters locally for those who don't listen to sports talk, is that Locke basically invented sports talk in Utah. He was the original Program Director at 1320 KFAN. He had quite a bit of sucess here. He worked 8 years at KJR in Seattle after being in SLC and people who listen to sports still follow his career. Carry on with CHR and where are they now postings...Sorry to interupt the important stuff.

Ironically enough, Locke's old timeslot on KJR (7 to 10 pm) is now occupied by Ian Furness (of 1320 and 1280 fame).
