I post this with caution ... I am opening a can of worms with this topic, (e.g Religion + Politics)
But what do people think of Sen. Harry Reid? Arguably, he's the most prominent Mormon, except for Mitt Romney. Reid is the Senate Majority Leader, and arguably could run for President too in 2012 if he wanted to.
But would he have as good of a shot as Mitt does in '08? Would Reid have an easier time because Evangelicals wouldn't be against him like they are Mitt, simply because he's a Mormon? Or a harder time because he's a democrat?
I don't know myself. I've been a strong Republican most my life, although lately my faith in the party has really been slipping. However, if Harry Reid ran for President, I don't know if I'd support him or not.
What are everyone's thoughts?

Are you sure he's Mormon? I've never heard that mentioned anywhere, and there's no mention of it in his official biography (http://reid.senate.gov/about/biography.cfm). I think he's a clueless git, but that has nothing to do with whether he's a Mormon or not. Maybe someone typoed "Moron"

It is well known that Senator Reid is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am a bit puzzled as to why you thought his, or anyone else's, religious identification should be mentioned on their official websites. Senator Hatch's biography does not identify his religion either. hatch.senate.gov/index.cfm?FuseAction=Biography.Home

I would vote for Sen Reid for president. In fact he's better than anyone in the democratic field of contenders right now. And anyone who whould have their official website as www.giveemhellharry.com/biography is ok in my book!

I am a bit puzzled as to why you thought his, or anyone else's, religious identification should be mentioned on their official websites I didn't say I thought it should. I merely said that it didn't mention it. It seems like these biographies mention all sorts of things like family life, hobbies, education, sports interests and whatnot, so it would seem logical that something of that nature could also be included. I was seeing if it was. I couldn't think of any other place to look for credible information that wasn't speculation.
