Last Sunday I went to share some cake in honor of my Brother in law's birthday. A person I have known for sometime said, "Wish my neighbor had parties like this." Turns out this poor soul has been putting up with many intoxicated bashes resulting in loss of sleep, not only from the ruckus but also concern over the type of person regularly attracted and the state they come and go in. This person says individuals frequently arrive in an impaired state and leave even more so. Told this person she owes it to society at large besides herself to report to law enforcement anyone endangering others' well being by operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
I have since realized I haven't been doing this myself. Would feel absolutely awful if someone lost their life or were left with ongoing medical issues because of my inattention to this avenue of intervention.
Decided to post this here because the individual mentioned in passing that a gray convertible with KCPW on the door dispersed and individual to the Saturday night party. No idea as to the person's condition, coming or going. It would be wise to avoid this location. Evidently neighbors on two blocks are fed up with the goings on there.

I know what you mean, Dolt. I have a similiar situation in my 'hood. There is a neighbor who has parties pretty much every weekend in April, May, and June. They sound like they could be great parties. Great music, they have a hot tub... the parties start at 10 p.m.
The problem is some of the crowd arrives drunk and loud. Ultimately, there is a shouting match between party members every party. You can hear the shouting all the way down the street. The loud partying doesn't bother me at all because I am up late, but I worry about the arguements and the condition of the partyers.
Some neighbors must call the police, because for the last month, the police have arrived. As soon as they do come, the music is turned way down, and some of the revellers leave. But the police don't stay and after the police are gone, that's when the shouting starts.
I live in a nice, clean, good area, too. It doesn't matter where you live, it's the people that decide to party drunk! I just hope no one gets hurt or killed. They fight about all kinds of crazy things and they yell in the street at 3 am. It's scary! I hope no one brings a gun, because alot of the drunkun arguements are about someone's boyfriend or girlfriend. The F words are a plenty too.
Update: For the 1st time in weeks, I don't hear a party. It's past 10pm, no extra cars are out front, no music... Maybe they have to work tomorrow or maybe when the police came last weekend, they told the partyers they would be in trouble if officers had to come back. I don't know. Do cops do that?
Anyway, the best part is no fighting.

Drunk people really bug me especially loud violent ones!
Why won't people in the US get serious about drunk driving? No meaningful legislation is ever passed. I guess the politicians have their fair share of potential DUIs too. The courts give perps way too many chances to eff up someone else's life. So where's the accountability from the courts when theY give someone a pass for the 3rd time and they plow into someone? I support people's right to imbibe but when will people get a clue about this?
I would say that getting tough on drunk driving would accomplish a whole lot more than the stupid "private club" membership thing. I'm a non-drinker but I occasionally go out to eat with co-workers at a local restaurant that is a "private" club and to add a $7 "membership fee" to my meal when I did not drink is just stupid.
Drinking and drunk driving will never be eliminated but the free pass system isn't working.
How about a mandatory 2 weeks in jail and 6 months drivers license suspension on the first offense? But the bonus for those that like the current "free pass" system. is they get a "free" UTA pass.

Grim, you make an outstanding point, now I have no problem with drinking, America is about freedom, BUT it is MORE about personal responsibility. I feel drunk driving should cost you enough that you wont dare do it again, if you kill someone, it should be classified as MURDER, if you make the choice to drink then drive and someone gets killed, you made the choice to drive when we all know it's dangerous....................
I find it amazing that in this country we still see drunk driving as a fashionable crime.....why?

Envy maybe? Being drunk = partier = fun guy?
No that isn't reality, but some might see it that way.

Thanks for showing me how to spell partier, CA! It didn't look right when I spelled it that way the first time, so I improvised. I really need to go back to the third or fourth grade...
Neighbor had quiet party Sat and again last night. Not as many guests and they kept the drinking in-house and hot tub and I heard no shouting in the street either. I think the police probably did warn them.
I have to agree with Grim, too. Admin is also right in that drinking seems to be the fashionable crime. I don't understand it. Take a cab for heaven's sake! A life is worth cab fare... Not to mention worth saving someone a jail sentence!

Talked to the lady once more. The neighbor has been uncharacteristically quieter since my last post. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against responsible drinking. Those who cannot drink responsibly might consider a new hobby.

I'm glad I live in an area with an HOA. Any horse crap going on and fines are impossed. $ talks. I love coming home from camping so I can get some peace and quiet. Bob L.

I'm with Dolt, here. Drinking responsibly is ok by me. It's the scary ones that I worry about. Last night, our partier neighbors had alot of people over, but no one came drunk this time. The party is still going-it's 5:34 am. But they are not fighting so everything's cool. Hope they have fun.
