HA! I knew that was you d2thep!!! I just knew it!!!!!!!! We miss the H E L L out of you! Hope you are having good times. SLC sucks here a little bit The heat is ok for me, I don't mind the heat. I really hate to beat that dead horse again and again, but it's the air quality that is killing me and mine. The problem is that we just had the 4th of July and when the heat index is in the high eighties and over (we are in the 100's), the ozone goes higher and with ozone, you can't breathe hardly at all. Adding fireworks and driving to that mix is deadly for everyone. We have been higher then 86 degrees for nearly a month now. Just as the ozone settles down.. The 4th hits and then Oregan had a fire that brought our valley enough haze and smoke that you can't see the mountains! I mean.. YOU CAN'T SEE THEM. Now Utah has 7 fires in the state and one that is now making national news, because we need help to fight it. It is the worst fire we have had in the state. In central Utah. When the winds shift, our valley is gonna be in the black smoke. We really need to start praying here! It's gonna get alot scarier than it is right now. Sorry for the rant.. Just want you to know ... Don't come back, yet! This website changes every hour as the air quality changes. Right now, it says Ozone 108 and Air Quality Particles 86.. That is January inversion readings and it'll probably get worse if we have the wrong type of wind. The irony is... only wind can fix this, but we have to many fires and we are in a heap of trouble. www.airnow.gov/index.cfm?action=airnow.showlocal&CityID=221How are you?

I sort of like the LA feel of the other night - smoggy + hot + traffic.
All I need now is a marine layer, some palm trees ... and maybe a beach.

Ok, now I'm happier. The air quality has straightened up quite a bit since it got dark. It usually stays bad at night for the most part but before they turned off the site for the night, the readings were better! They are not back to normal and we are still in deep, deep trouble.. but for now the numbers are at breathable levels this hour. More good news. There are now 6 fires in the state and hopefully by tomorrow, there will only be 5. One more of them may be fully contained and out by mornings light. Henry, you're great! It does kind of have an LA feel, right? Dolt and I are heat lovers, I guess. The other night, I woke up to 73 degrees and I was freezing! I'm now officially a reptile.. I got used to the 100's quickly.

Ok...I'm back took the kids on a little vacation before the wife started her new job...I know.... wait you're living in Tahoe that should be a vacation for you already, but we took a 3.5 hour drive to the Bay area and went to Six Flags/Sea World Vallejo, California and I actually liked it better then Lagoon and for some reason it was cheaper to get the whole family in then Lagoon?
All our fires here are out but they did not come that close to where I'm at.. I live in Zephyr Cove Nevada and did my wife do a great job finding our house right in between 2 golf courses Edgewood and Glenbrook so I'm in heaven ;D. Shopping here is a little cha chingy so we find it best to go into Carson City about a 25 minute drive and do the shopping there + a better variety but stuff like internet service much cheaper here with Nevada Bell I was paying in SLC 36.99 for DSL 1.5 speed and here I pay 14.99 a month? I still kept my VOIP Sunrocket service just added a Tahoe area # and kept my SLC # so family can call me free (I'm thinking)
I really love it here it is really peaceful the lake is just as wonderful as you can imagine and the people here are just so nice some on the other side of the lake have the $$$$$$$ I'm looking forward to starting the radio job in August I hope we will stream so you can hear me but it looks doubtful if you like KDYL then you will like K-Tahoe 590 Am and if you get in that area give it a listen I will be on from 10 am til 4 pm. Starting August 13th
Gab at you soon and I'm I miss you too Stitch!!!

Thread Hijack:
Our family loves Six Flags Vallejo. The coasters are by far superior to Lagoon. And what you said about being cheaper is 100% correct. Season passes are $79 at Six Flags and $90 at Lagoon. The Six Flags deal used to better in the Bay Area as both Great America near San Jose and Six Flag Vallejo were included in the season pass. But Great America was aquired again by Paramount last year.
Lagoon is a dump!! Those poor animals living in the delapidated cages on the train ride. How sad! Theme parks are going downhill across the country even the Six Flags theme park near Los Angeles (Santa Clarita) is in danger of closing. Six Flags divested itself of about a half dozen of it's parks.
So sad that Lagoon has to compete... wait they don't have to compete. It's the only theme park for hundreds of miles. No wonder it sucks.

And Vallejo doesn't even need an amusement park. The weather is great and the area's natural attractions superb. Soon as ninety percent of the people leave, I am moving back there.
...oh yeah, glad the new local is working out so well d2thep!

I actually like the Vallejo area also still alot of open land left but I like the whole Bay area San Jose ect... And yes Grim the rides are really great compared to Lagoon but I heard that Wicked ride is top notch.

Thread hijack? Man, I love it when people hijack threads!!!! I'm glad you're happy too d2thep! It would be cool to completely overhaul Lagoon and make the price reasonable again. I don't know why the prices are so high there. Could it be some kind of liability insurance coverage for the park or just greed?

They will charge whatever people will pay. They figure out where the maximum amount of revenue is. If they charged $1 million/day but they had two people who actually paid that, they'd do it. (Not likely, but I'm just sayin'.....)

We were considering a move to the Bay Area about 4 years ago (I grew up in the East Bay) and we looked at some condos right by Six Flags Valejo right behind Costco. What more would I need??
Oh, right a job that makes enough to buy a $500,000 fixer upper. Comparing climates the SFBA wins out over Utah in every category.
