There's something I'm noticing about the KJQ SL translator thats really bugging me. If there's any stereo separation, it's really really slight. I know it seems like a small thing, but it does make a difference.
I think we figured out a few months ago that the translator is really taking a feed directly off air from KJQN, and maybe they need to monoize it in order to eliminate static. It still sucks. There are ways that you don't need to feed a translator directly from the main station, but I'm not really up on those rules. Can someone who knows fill in the details? I'm also curious to ehar from anyone who's solidly in the range of main KJQN to tell me whether there's a good stereo signal there.

KJQN's main has always sounded better than 103.1.

I answered my own question tonight. (Figures.)
I hit a pocket in Riverdale tonight where the radio locked on well enough to 100.7 that it didn't need to do 'stereo blend'. The music almost jumped out of the radio (at least by comparison.)
