...Christmas!! Fron All Access: CLEAR CHANNEL AC KEFM/OMAHA, NE takes the lead as the first station in the country to flip to the All Christmas format. The station launched this morning (9/22) at 5a with MICHAEL BUBLE's version of "I'll Be Home For Christmas." Yes, we're finding it a little hard to believe, too. I smell format flip...but, my new prediction: KOSY on 10-3-05.

Where did the time go? I am not anywhere near the end of my shopping list.

The time hasn't gone anywhere yet.
It's usually hard enough to listen to the same Christmas songs for 4 weeks; 8 weeks is pushing it. But 13 1/2 weeks?? I smell a disaster.
I was going to assume that the station was a rimshotter, low power, at the bottom of the ratings or something like that, but no. They're a class C not far outside Omaha and downgrading to a C0 and moving right into downtown, plus their solid (though not stellar) in the latest Arbs. I find the move puzzling.

The mystery is solved.
All Access is reporting that the stunt lasted about a day and a half before relaunching as "96.9 The Brew"
KOSY still has a chance. *g*

The Brew? So they flipped formats? Interesting.

What would be played on "The Brew". The Monster Mash? Maybe I'm starting to get a little too pumpkin-pie brained, but doesn't that just sound like an 'All Halloween All The Time' name for a station. Unless it were in Salem....

What would be played on "The Brew". The Monster Mash? Or...maybe it's the all new Beer Drinking Polka format! DIAL ME IN!

Sort of like when KSL put their signal on 102.7 before 97.5 signed on in order to claim the title of having the first FM talk station in Utah. Hey, if my neighbor down the street can decorate the outside of her house for Halloween in August (which she did), it must be OK for radio stations to start playing Christmas music toward the end of September.
