Using past or current Utah TV News People...Who would be included in the "ultimate" line up ? Here's mine: (Sorry about the spelling on most of these !!)
Main Male: Mark Koelbel Main Female: Kimberly Perkins Sports: Craig Bolerjack Sports (field) Wes Ruff Reporters: John Klemack, Susan Wood, Christieanne Klein Weather: Kevin Eubank (hip, yet believably nerdy) ;D

For sports, my two would be Jim Nantz (yes, he did work in SL before getting his big break with CBS) and Craig Bolerjack.
Weather would be Mark Eubanks (why settle for the son when you can have the father?).
News would be Shelly Thomas and Nick Clooney (the brother of Rosemary).

I know this is much more information than you asked for but here goes:
My all time for nostalgia's sake:
Dick Nourse, Shelley Thomas, Bob Welti, and Paul James. I loved that team. There will never be another team to compare.
If I could create my own current news team it would be:
Steve Eagar, Gretchen Carr, Mark Eubank, and Craig Bolerjack
Other anchors that are impressive: Ruth Todd, Kim Johnson, Scott Haws, Terry Wood, Michelle King, Mark Koelbel, Ron Bird, Nicea Digering, Brian Mullahy, Keith McCord, Lisa Conley
Great reporters: Rod Decker, Cristina Flores, Nadine Wimmer, John Daley, Carole Mikita, (the new guy on KUTV that also anchors weekend mornings, sorry I forgot his name), Heidi Hatch, Sue Thompson, Fields Mosely, Shelley Osterloh (one of the most underrated, talented utility players in the local market)
Weather: I like most of the weather people
Sports: Wesley Ruff, David James
I would list my needs improvement list but I dont' want to get too negative. Will the moderator pull critical posts that don't get too personal? I appreciate any feedback.

***Notice how Fox13 is sp**** on these lists?
Male: Mark Koebel Female: Barb Smith, **** Lake Sports:I like Channel 4's current sports team, with Wes and Marius.....and those other people......... Weather: Does anyone remember Dan Jessop? I liked him as a weatherman, though he was only on for a short time, ................. but all time weather: Sterling Poulson; he has good charisma (his Halloween floating head and hands was great!)

Main male: Phil Reisen was actually too good for Utah, very intelligent, and his English was impeccable.
Mark Koelbel has improved a lot. He’s good at vamping during breaking news.
Main female: Mary Nickles is a real class act. Makes the other “girls” on channel 2 sound dumb by comparison.
Sports – don’t care, never watch.
Weather – Bob Welti was pleasant to watch.
Mark Eubank is the most accurate forecaster, but sounds like an escapee from a Monty Python skit. “And now, more funny noises!”
Sterling Poulson is also pleasant to watch.
Reporter: “Standby as Rod Decker yells the news.”
Marcos Ortiz (now on channel 4) is also very good.
In the early days of Utah TV, I used to like KTVX 4 (NBC) until KSL 5 (CBS) hired away Welti & James and brought in Nourse. Then for many years channel 5 was the only news worth watching until CBS bought channel 2 and vastly improved the local news coverage. Now, since I got a digital TV receiver ($200 at Walmart - look near the rabbit ear antennas) I mostly watch channel 5 news because their picture quality is much superior to any others. (I like to count the hairs on Dick Nourse's head.) KSL has always had the best engineering, by far.
While I’m at it, why does each station have to have a silly slogan? What the heck does “Fresh Air” mean? “No Lake Stink Today”? And how about “Close to Home”? As opposed to what? Bob Lonsberry? Here’s my slogan for channel 13, “The Silly News”. Please give me more long lead stories about Fox reality shows. Pardon my cynicism.

This is fun; I've worked at 2, 4, and 5 over the years so my picks will probably be somewhat influenced by who's nice and who's not . . .
Male anchor: Mark Koelbel (has presence but is still approachable and relatable) Female anchor: Barbara Smith (beautiful, experienced, easy to watch, great delivery and voice - though she's not so good at reporting) Weather: Dan Pope (despite what you've all said, Pope is statistically more accurate than either Eubank - that's been verified by several high school stats projects. Pope can be corny, I admit, but he's fun) Sports: Wes Ruff (extremely knowledgeable, great guy, natural talent on-air)
Backups: Nicea DeGering, Mary Nickles, Bruce Lindsay, Lisa Conley
Most-Underrated Anchor: Reagan Leadbetter (I know - "Who?" Leadbetter used to be on KTVX's Good Morning Utah with Reed Cowan - a GREAT team, by the way - and she is absolutely fantastic. She should be in top 5 market or network. Now she's on that mid-morning crapfest Good Things Utah with Nicea DeGering)
Reporters: Vanocur (you KNOW he's good), Reed Cowan, Cristina Flores, Cristianne Klein, Mullahy, Daley.
