On the other board, there's a comment about KWKD sounding muddy. In researching something else, I remembered that the new construction permit for KWKD and the constuction permit for KPKK have identical parameters. I'll bet they're multiplexed somehow. Chances are, KPKK is getting ready for sign on.

Not sure if the two are related. Someone I speak to regluarly knows some of the Simmons engineers, and apparently they don't even have power at the KPKK site yet. Expect Mid-May at the earliest for a sign-on. They don't even have a format decided on yet...

KWKD's main has power. It has to be coming from somewhere. Millcreek and Simmons are getting real chummy, so I wouldn't rule out sharing costs.
As for programming, I heard that a format had been decided on, though I don't know if it's being reconsidered.

Jammin' Oldies, please let it be Jammin' Oldies! Oh please, oh please! Oh please, oh please! Oh please, oh please! ;D
I guess a true 80's station (all the 80's not just rock 80s) would be good too, but they won't do that because it would compete with KJQ.
