Equity Broadcasting, a large Hispanic broadcaster, with the majority of the stations being Spanish-language, has been sold. today.reuters.com/investing/financeArticle.aspx?type=mergersNews&storyID=2006-04-10T181026Z_01_N10361669_RTRIDST_0_MEDIA-COCONUT-EBC.XMLI think they own the following here at least: KCBU 3 Price KBCJ 6 Vernal KUTH 12 Logan KCVB-CA 3 Logan Any others? Here in Utah KUTH is a Univision affiliate, KCBU is a Retro Television Network affiliate, with a translator on Channel 45 in Salt Lake. KCVB-CA is supposedly affiliated with 'i', and KBCJ is shopping/religion according to some reports. There is a pending allotment proceeding for KBCJ to move from Vernal to Santaquin, to rimshot Salt Lake from a site south of there. Have been completely unable to find any documents on the FCC site regarding the allotment proceeding.

Channel 45 is Telefutura, and appears to be a -CA in station ID's now. Channel 58 in SLC translates KCBU 3 "Price" and channel 32 (which I believe is a full strength station) actually is now KUTH. I can't remember what they've done with 12 from Logan... straight simulcast?
Interesting stuff... RTN is their own creation, I wonder if that means it will be going away? Or perhaps their unique broadcasting operation will be changing?

Before Gary Cocola sold 32 to Univision, that was KCBU and aired America's Collectibles. Univision bought 32 and Equity and Univision agreed that the KCBU calls would go to Price, and the original calls KUTF for 3 would go to 32.
KUTF is Telefutura. Univision is on 12, KUTH.
The FCC site shows K45GX as the calls for the translator. It has not become a -CA yet, they have to take Kxxx-CA where the X's are the other letters in the calls to be officially a -CA, along with some other things. This was the old K68FY which took a displacement because everything above 51 is going to be discarded by TV after the digital transition is complete.
