Ok, just wanted to start a new thread, um, well.... just because. I'm glad to know people are paying attention to other markets, especially my old stomping grounds. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. Or maybe that's just the oatmeal. Er, nevermind. But seriously. It's true that Viacom/CBS killed WNEW. I know this is a Utah board, so I won't directly debate the logic (or lack thereof) of the move unless there's a groundswell of support. The radio-info.com and musicradio77.com boards have plenty of that for those who care. Since i'm relatively new to the area (7 years now), I'm curious about similar acts in this area. What stations were THE place for <whatever> that were flipped to something else and never recovered. The KISN 80's flip might qualify, but I'm not totally decided on that. (The biggest thing I miss from the old Hot A/C KISN is Casey's Top 20 or 40 or whatever it is these days. Did that ever resurface anywhere? I miss that show.)

Which did they use? Q92 from Logan still airs the top 20 (which is the Adult Contemporary R&R chart, I believe)... the top 40 was the CHR chart, but seems to be disappearing nationwide.
Anymore, all I hear is Rick Dees.
On the "Blink 102.7" FM, I was wondering if its sort of like a retro-format for radio (not the music, but the whole idea). Didn't full service radio (including entertainment news or whatever it is exactly) fall to TV? I mean we've had Entertainment Tonight for years, not to mention Extra! or Access Hollywood...
So, have we progressed backward? I heard Blink doesn't even air much music?
Thanks, and sorry if I'm way off balance here too.

I don't think I'd go as far to say "Blink 102.7" is full service, Blink is more tabloid, Full service is more news (National, Local), weather, traffic, local info, I don't think a bunch of gossip on Madonna's next hair style gives that full service feel to me ;D Anyway Blink may not be full service but it is full of something............

We pay attention to a lot of stuff, including other markets. We just pay more attention to this area.
