Just wanted to mention that I heard yesterday on KALL the teasers they're running saying "Look for the new KALL 700 coming soon!" So I guess it's coming soon. Will be looking for the AM Stereo indicator on 910 when the Disney moves there. Still got my fingers crossed. Also, yesterday went on a tower hunt. Didn't have a whole lot of time and ended up getting lost in the hills and couldn't really see anything anyway because it was raining too damn hard. But I went on a quest west of Lehi into the Eagle Mountain area in search of 6 towers to confirm how close the new 820 is to getting on the air. Ended up in all this new stuff...a bunch of new subdivisions and planned developments all in the Eagle Mountain area. Turns out I guess I turned off of the highway BEFORE I got to Cedar Fort. I should have continued on into Cedar Fort, and THEN looked to the east. WAY the heck out there is where the site is supposed to be, though. Maybe I'll try again next week if the weather is good. It was raining so hard that ya just couldn't see anything anyway. So a more-or-less wasted trip. Surprising to see that the site is going to be so far out there, though. Will be interesting to see the lobe for the directional night pattern. Wonder how far north it'll reach. Man, this site's WAY out there in the boonies!

Uh oh. Clear Channel dropped the ball.
KALL's current website is kall910.com The domain kall.com is owned by someone else. You would think with the lead time they have they would have registered kall700.com by now.
They haven't.
I'm tempted to buy it myself just to annoy them. Even if they don't want it, $9 is a small price to pay.

Awww, but then they'd use their own .cc for the domain. Oh well, it'd be humorous anyway.

Somebody buy it, and I'll cook up a parody of the current 910 site you can link to.

Clear Channel doesn't own the .cc TLD. It's the equivalent of .us for the Cocos Islands.
Bet you didn't know...or care.

RE: New 820 station
The nightime north lobe on 820 will be fine. Kicking it north is the reason for the 6 towers. You can do the required contour protections with 3. (It's only an issue at night, since it will be 50 KW non-directional daytime.) The location was designed to assure a signal into Sandy, Draper, etc. at night. The deep null towards WBAP, Dallas (the Class A on 820) would wipe out all of that area were it located anywhere north of where it is. As it is, Provo will suffer, but such is the fate of a drop in on a Clear Channel!
