Apparently Bill Shatner is a bit delusional these days. He's quoted as saying about 'Boston Legal' "It’s the most popular thing I’ve ever done, including ‘Star Trek.'"
Get over yourself Bill.
Boston Legal is barely a blip on anyone's radar at this point. I'd even forgotten the thing was still on. I respect David E. Kelley a great deal, but this thing isn't going anywhere fast. There's no buzz about it at all. I'm sure there are loyal fans, but when was the last time anyone outside their fanbase thought to themselves "Hey, I should really catch Boston Legal this week."? For some people, 20 year old Trek reruns are still appointment television.
But look on the bright side Bill. At least it's not "T.J. Hooker".

Remember the time Shatner screamed at all those Trekkies and told them to "GET A LIFE"? I can't remember if that was an SNL bit or not.. I think it was real life and then SNL took it and ran like crazy... Shatner's alway been pretty wacked in the head. Boston Legal has it's moments, but you're right, time slots have changed so much.. I thought the show was long gone until the other day...

Yes. I actually have a copy of the "Get a Life" sketch. It's funny and shows that he does have a sense of humor. Somehow I don't see an equivalent sketch about his BL character working at all.
Side note: ABC just announced that BL is renewed for another season.

Yeah, it's good that he can laugh at himself. There could probably be a sketch written about the BL guy.. It would be a 'sick n wrong' sketch.. one that probably involved Candace Bergen's character.
Those "Priceline" commercials were made for him though. I thought it was funny when Leonard Nimoy appeared in the last one. It was rumored that Shatner had demanded more money and they wanted to replace him... It looked like Spock was supposed to be his replacement!
