Is it just me or does that clip sound staged? Maybe I'm just too much of a pessimist, but it sounds like a stunt to get attention. Whether it was intended that way or not, it worked.

Listening again I think the tip-off for me is the "will you stop touching me!" part that sounds like it's right out of a Bill Cosby routine. The whole thing just sounds too ridiculous for any sane person to take seriously anyway.
But wait, it gets better. Radio Locator calls it a Triple A, Arbitron calls it a Hot AC; regardless both formats are good candidates for this type of stunt (more the Triple A though). The ratings have been improving, but aren't looking that good for the station for at least a year. This sounds like just the kind of thing that could goose the numbers a bit. On the other hand, if you were going to pull something like this, now is the worst possible time. The fall ratings book closed the day before and the winter book won't start for almost a month. So that part doesn't add up. It's very odd.

Bill Handle is just right for the part. I have caught "Handle on the Law" a couple of times. He acts like he is blowing a gasket with callers several times a show.

Too hard for me to tell. Radio-info was running a thread on it possibly being staged, and I do wonder. Either way, I crack up laughing every time I listen to the clip, just to imagine what it must've been like for unsuspecting Star listeners. Cut out the swearing, and you have good radio ... (sort of) ... well, interesting radio, anyway.
