What is your opinion on coverage of the raid at the YFZ compound in El Dorado, Texas? The Deseret News (and former radio man Brian West) were some of the first ones into the polygamous compound for interviews. John Hollenhorst of KSL has also scored a few high-profile interviews. I did notice Nadine Wimmer almost shaking her fists in "disgust." Has the local media done justice to both sides, or has it favored a particular group? Is there or is there not "bias?"
Should the LDS Church take an even STRONGER position in an effort to separate itself from the sect? Or by allowing certain elements to speak out uncensored via the Deseret News and KSL, is it a tacit de-facto 'unofficial' declaration of support for the FLDS or 'religion" in general?
With SLC attorney Rod Parker serving as spokesman for the FLDS group, and the group's ties to Utah, I believe it to be an appropriate topic for the board.
Please post your response.
