I don't know if today was typical, but Car Radio was absolutely awful for the 10 minutes or so I could stand to listen. I'm not sure who this woman they've got hosting (and I use that term loosely) is, but this is Not Good. The top of the show started with one of those "interviews" KSL likes to do with owners of businesses. This one was a tire store having a big sale. It was pretty clear several times that this woman just had no idea what to ask next. (Did marketing not prepare anything?) At one point, the host even flat out said she didn't know anything much about cars. I cringed. How'd you get this gig? It got worse by her repeating the same thing twice more once the Tunex guy came on and basically bailed her out of the 'interview' and then went on into their normal shtick.
Hint folks, even if you have no clue what you're talking about, pretend you do. It reenforces the authority of the radio show. This is Radio 101 here. Now hopefully this woman does have some pretty good knowledge about some other show that she's hosting, like maybe the Greenhouse show, but she is totally out of place on Car Radio.
Why don't we just end the charade and let the guest of the week (mostly the owners of the Tunex places) host the show themselves? If they need some help, they can banter a bit with a producer. I can alraedy hear someone in the back going "but then it's just an infomercial". It has been for years.
