Paul Harvey's wife passed away this weekend. Here is the latest information from Radio and Records:
Lynne "Angel" Harvey -- Paul Harvey's wife, producer, editor and more, known to many as "The First Lady of Radio" -- died at her River Forest, Ill., home early Saturday morning after a yearlong battle with leukemia. She was 92. Paul best described how much Angel meant to him just before receiving the Presidential Medal of Freedom at the White House on Nov. 9, 2005, saying, "This is the highest honor I have received since 60-some years ago, when Angel said 'I do.'" On this morning's edition of "News and Comment," Ron Chapman told the world about Angel, talking about the role she played in the growth of the show as it "leapt from Kalamazoo to Chicago to coast to coast and around the world." Chapman said he was just a guest reporting the story but that "someday soon, Paul Harvey's 'News and Comment' will tell you the rest of that story." Angel is survived by her husband, Paul Harvey, and their son, Paul Jr., who has become an integral part of their broadcasts.
