Hmmmmm.....I haven't heard anything about that. I guess it IS possible. I wonder if Citadel could do a better job at it than CC did. Guess I'll be checking in tomorrow and see.

Well It must be official, I heard the switch from Radio Disney to Classic Country 860, Sounds like they are trying to work out the bugs, funky things happening here and there.. Sounds like they have some syndicated thing as well..

Hey Michael. You'll like this one. They're running JRN's classic country. So that's now 3 stations within earshot (more or less) running the same format; KEVA/KOTB, KBNZ and now KBEE(AM) Guess that pretty much rules out my idea of keeping a KEVA simulcast on KOTB whenever Millcreek gets around to moving the transmitter.
Can we stop the merry-go-roung now? I'm getting dizzy.

Oh sh*t! I forgot to check yesterday! Well that goes to show ya what I miss when I don't check Utahradionews.com!! Yep! That's us! Geez! I can't believe that JRN would allow this. 860 definitely gets up into Tremonton. And KBNZ does get into parts of Salt Lake EASY. Talk about your overlap. What gets me is that I'm sure that Westwood One and ABC both have their own "classic country" formats. You guys may recall ABC's classic country format. It was run in Salt Lake for a while on 105.7 KBCK (K-Buck). Why choose JRN when there's others to choose from that aren't being run anywhere? Doesn't anyone care about being DIFFERENT??? You're right CA. I guarantee ya there's plenty of places along the Wasatch Front that you can pick up 106.1 KOTB and KBNZ and KBEE. Go figure!

Honestly? I doubt the Jones people care. They clear the same national ads no matter what station people are listening to. The ones who would care would be Citadel and 3 Point (or whatever they call themselves today.) In fact, from Jones' standpoint, it might be best to have the format on every transmitter in the market. That way you're always bumping into it.
Of course if that turns out to be a short lived stunt on 860 none of this matters.

KBEE-AM is one of the better sounding AM stations I've heard recently . . . it even sounds good on my el cheapo White-Westinghouse clock radio. So hats off to the Citadel engineers or whoever is responsible for the clean sound . . . it's nice to hear a good sounding music station on AM. Just wish they'd ditch the sound of the coyote howling every five minutes or so!

I agree they don't sound bad, now if we can get Helmut to turn on the AM stereo for us we'd be stylin' ;D I second that! (I bet Michael thirds)

I do THIRD that! I seem to recall when 860 was KUTR and it was LDS music, it was indeed AM stereo. So you would think they still have the AM stereo equipment available. I wish they'd clean up the sound, though. I have to disagree on the cleanliness. I think it's pretty dirty-sounding myself. If they could drop the modulation just a touch it would really clean it up a lot. Right now it sound grundgy and too loud. It's almost distorted. Sounds like they're trying to be too loud. It was interesting to compare AM860 with AM910 hen both were running Radio Dismal side by side. 910 sounded noticably better to my ears, frequency response wise. I didn't really listen to long though.

Guess I need to clean the peanut butter out of my ears . . . or maybe I've just been listening to AM radio too long. I still say the howling coyote needs to go, though. ;D

I think KSL and whatever KFNZ was were both also AM Stereo at one time or another. This may also mean that KKDS had the equipment, as they were a top-40 and oldies station for a while before they picked up Radio AAHS in 1990.
1280 was also playing music for some time, and 1320 played various formats including the 2nd KUTR LDS format.
Basically if it played music or was a major player they all may have been AM Stereo at one time or another, or the car stereo played tricks due to interference from other stations when you were just far enough away.
