What would be the best choice???
Before the switch-over next Feb. , many will subscribe to cable/ dish. Which is the better way to go? Cable or dish?
Best value for the price...service...etc.
Basic svc. is fine. Don't need all the sports and movie ch.s
If area is important.....Sugar House.
Doesn't Utah rank # 1 in people receiving broadcast T.V. signals?
Your input will help the folks in my neighborhood make an informed choice. TNX in advnc

I personally like Dish, but with cable going digital the only difference will be the price. What I like about dish is the guide that shows what is playing and coming up, plus the DVR. I doubt cable companies will provide DVRs if they don't already.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but Dish is more expensive, but, offers more channels. Basic cable is obviously the cheapest route, but has less options.

Comcast does provide DVR, plus you can always get a Tivo. I think that Comcast is highly overpriced for their digital services. I have Dish and get 250 + channels for about $60 a month.. I don't have any recent info, but I'm sure comcast would be upwards of $100 for similar service... That's with no premiums too.

If you are currently receiving TV Over-The-Air, why not just buy a converter box and continue watching OTA? You'll get more than twice as many channels, including all of the current ones. And you can apply for a gov't coupon that makes the converter boxes almost free at www.dtv2009.gov/And the picture quality of OTA digital is better than satellite and equal or better than cable. You will need a TV antenna that will pick up UHF channels. If you get any UHF channels now, you'll probably be O.K.

I had DISH for 7 years and loved it! I strongly reccomended it. I decided to change to my local cable company for service when they offered me cable internet, plus analog cable with 70 channels for $68 a month! The speed is incredible and the variety of channels is decent too, but then again, I live in Idaho.

I had Dish for 6 years and most recently I had Comcast HD/Digital now I'm strictly OTA Digital. The only downside that I see by staying OTA is that I don't get to see the Ute games on the Mtn. IF I were to go with a TV provider (which I may in the future) I would go with Satellite (DirectTV). Comcast will never be able to be price/service competitive because of the cost of maintaining and installing hundreds of thousands of miles of fiber and copper. Determine how many hours of TV a month you watch and determine if it's worth $60-$140 a month.

Interesting map. I'm in the itty bitty little people live inside the TV stage so this stuff really fascinates me. I understand some of the science involved RF, wavelength, frequency, digital vs analog signals etc. Why does the circle have the chunk out of the bottom... It barely makes it to Nephi but overshoots Evanston. What about those outside the area (Price) Are there "repeaters" that extend the coverage area or are their only options to buy cable/Satellite?
