KSTU 'Fox 13' has filed to keep the Channel 28 allotment it is using now after they shut down the analog in February. hraunfoss.fcc.gov/edocs_public/attachmatch/DA-08-1692A1.pdfThey stated that there is alot of activity everywhere to meet the transition deadline, the Commission acknowledged that in this boilerplate rulemaking order, and also Foxco says that it will mean that there will be no full-power VHF channels in Salt Lake as a result. I do know that two LPTVs in Salt Lake will be in the VHF band on 8 and 10, and there's still KCBU which will be on 11 and KUTF that will be on 12, but those are rimshots and technically don't count. That will remain the case until such time as the FCC opens things up for new channels to be allotted to the market in the future. Also, there are the pending MX proceedings on *18 in Ogden and *26 in Salt Lake. There was also the old discarded proceeding to allot 6 to Santaquin and move KBCJ from Vernal to there. Nothing came of that. And there was an allotment case which I never found that planned a new station on *57 for Salt Lake also, that was likely scuttled. No open digital allotment was ever proposed to replace that one either, given it was above 51.
