That looks strangely like the KUTR-AM 820 transmitter site.

Wait a minute...the old app was for the KUTR site. The newest app is near Thankgiving Point, at Mare Hollow.

They could have had 1010 for not a lot of money. Why spend all the dough on a build out now? Not a whole lot of info. available through the FCC site, other than the fact there is an open CP to RAMS III and some projected antenna graphs. I'd like to find out who RAMS III is. Any clues?
You'd have to be crazy to want to buy, let alone set up an AM facility in this business climate, especially in SLC.
Let's get some money together to send the applicant to counseling!

What do you want to bet that the format will be Evangelical Christian and is being underwritten by some Bible-belters who will put up "whatever it takes" to preach to the "Mormons!"

Interesting that there are several sets of applications, one set for 770 Khz, the other set for 780 Khz. Obviously, there a good wait until one of these facilities gets built. Should be an interestin fight. I didn't notice a CP for either one, but may have missed it. After all the legal wranglings, this won't be worth it.

Not to mention the fact that KNFL 1470 (Tremonton) and KOGN 1490 in Ogden have been silent for six months, and if the FCC database is any indication, they won't be back on the air any time soon. Maybe someone needs to call Morgan Skinner and try to get a package deal on 1470 & 1490. ;D

It's not a done deal yet, as the applicant at 770 for South Salt Lake has filed a petition for reconsideration.
RAMS III is also one of about four incarnations of that. I have seen RAMS I, RAMS II, and RAMS IV applying for AM stations across the country, and getting CPs for a few of them as well.
Regionally, I have found applications for stations on 1090, 1200, and 1580 and some of those are close in to Salt Lake, although some are found at either end of the area as well. None of those have been settled.
