I'm wondering about the move to 99.9, as that was mandated under Docket 05-243, and part of that docket involves moving KMGR from Delta and that tower near Nephi to Humphreys. May be that there are projected signal quality issues that necessitated the 97.1 translator. 05-243 involves a large number of station moves, some are still in the application stage, others are ready to fire up based on the reports here. The 92.5 moves that were part of this already have taken place as U-92 is a full C2 now.
As to 94.5 I'm picking up the main in Provo, and in Salt Lake I'm getting 92.9 and 96.7. None are clear, but I was able to ID them. Same goes for 93.7 in Richfield. I'm getting them on a 1/2 iPod-sized Insignia NS-HD01. That's the Best Buy portable HD radio receiver. Gets the Air1 translator on 89.7 clear depending on trees and buildings a good 40 miles away from the transmitter too.
I'm wondering if it is all because equipment and antennas are more sensitive than they used to be. Even the FCC says the preductions of coverage areas are conservative, and many are known to be heard further out than they are predicted to by standard engineering calculations.

95.9 KLZX comes in crystal clear In Logan. Theres just no need to have two signals broadcasting the same signal in the exact same coverage area. KLZX doesn't need to have a translator at 97.1 especially when their main covers Logan fine.

We were in Logan on July 16th and the 95.9 signal and 97.1 signal kept dropping. We were up there for a couple of hours and the other radio stations were fine.

Sounds like the skipping and signal dropping on 95.9 and 97.1 has been fixed.

Did you check around for any distant stations, like Mexican? I wonder how much the propagation affects the translator inputs...maybe the e-skip and tropo are affecting some.

Lately my car radio has had a lot of problems with Logan's 96.7 fighting with KQMB while in Orem. Usually, the Logan signal cannot be heard after going around the Point of the Mountain -- and that is the way I want it to be.

Can somebody humor me and change the title of this thread to something at least remotely applicable to the topic?
I swear this thread's huge view count is less attributable to interest in the subject and more to those of us who keep forgetting what the topic was and clicking again just to see if it was anything worthwhile.
