I'm on the east side of Murray - used to be called Cottonwood - and I have no trouble receiving 860 at night. Phil Hendrie puts me to sleep every night. But I can't get a decent signal on 1430 at night, and it's pretty borderline even in the daytime. I like listening to Laura Ingraham sometimes but I listen on XM because KLO is so weak. While we're on the subject, I occasionally try to listen to 630, which has a strong enough signal, but the quality of their signal is worse than some of the over-modulated powerhouse Mexican stations I used to hear here in the 50's and 60's. What is their problem? It all has to do with the directional patterns of each station. KLO has to directionalize (pull power away from the east) to protect KEZW out of Denver. Hope that answers your question. As for the small amount of power at night, it deals with FCC policy many moons ago and the idea of protecting skywave interference. That's when skywave ratings were worth something. Now, unless you are a DX'er, and there are FEW, that signal is worthless. One might argue for a general power boost across the board, although that would make for more interference and hash.

I know this sounds self serving because I guess it is. I have tried to get back on the air on these new Talk Stations and it seems there is no room for LOCAL. I know that these syndicated formats take little work in having them on and in todays economy broadcasters are doing everything they can to stay on the air with the least amount of personnal as possible. What I don't understand is the missed revenue that could be gained by having at least some local programming that people who actually live and work here could relate to. I've listened to these shows and all they seem to be are Rush, Hannity, Beck et al over and over. It is boring and not entertaining in the least. I know there are many who didn't like my show and obviously plenty who did. At least it was LOCAL and you could actually get on the show to agree or disagree to your hearts content as I never thought of my show as anything but entertainment and fun. I guess I miss radio as it used to be and maybe it has passed me by and it's time for me to realize it. That said, I'd kill to have my show back somewhere and in my case, "Talk is cheap". Whats going on Tom? it's your old friends son here! hey bro, don't get to down, you don't want to be on this station! this is just a throw away station, no offense, but kind of what yours became on the FM, you know, some true excellent shows, stuffed in the middle of a bunch of crap shows, with the incredible force of nothing behind it, I mean all the promotion your show and Mancow got on the FM, I'm surprised it's not thumping KSL these days! what a joke, Mancow, Phil Hendrie, they should be on an FM channel, and yes you fit right into that format, but something about interrupting the good stuff with "Americas Most Generic (and un original) Radio Show Host Jerry Boring Doyle" and "Rusty the guy that used to be good, but now is just like Doyle, Humphries" that doesn't click in with most people, but hey Tom, if you get something going get a hold of me,

4. Phil Hendrie hasn't lost his touch. Nice to have him back! Yeah! I'm sure it's great?? Once again, I wouldn't know, what time is he on anyway? And yes, Mancow is a 4 hour morning show, so how they figure they can get 20 minutes of the 4 hours and fill a one hour slot with it, is beyond me, but if you notice, the idiot generic doyle gets his entire show aired from beginning to end! thats 5 star programming if you ask me!
