I am curious (since I am out of the market) if KSL still uses the Nauvoo Bell on the hour. Is the "ring" a recording? I recall hearing it go on before CBS a few seconds late back in the seventies.

I have not listened carefully lately for the bell, but here is what I believe to still be true:
Back when KSL switched to digital broadcasting, doing so added a delay of a few seconds to its signal. So they dropped the live drop-in of the actual bell tolling. Enough listeners complained that they brought the bell back, only this time via a recording that they timed to take into account the delay so that listeners hear it at the top of each hour. I believe this to still be the present state of affairs.

The bell is still there and sounds on the hour. The ironic part is that the programming continues for another 10 seconds or so before they start their top of the hour news. But you can still use the "Historic Nauvoo Bell from Temple Square" to set your watch.
