Kevin Graham announced last week that he was leaving 1280 for a program director gig in Phoenix. I thought this would be a great opportunity for 1280 to shake things up and perhaps help their bottom-of-the-bin ratings. But who replaced Graham this week along side Gordon Monson? Jake Scott. Ouch. Yeah, I'm sure you guys will be on top of the charts in no time now.

I'm one who actually enjoys 1280 however I couldn't listen to the PM drive time precisely because of Kevin Graham. 1280 should use this opportunity to really bring the competition to 1320. 1320 can be beaten out, but not with Jake Scott.
Also 1280 has yet another iteration of Red and Blue. Getting 2 jocks who were pretty good at football doesn't make for great radio. Ex jocks can be good, but they need a seasoned radio guy to cary them. I love the John and Hans show but mostly because of John.

Doesn't say much for the station in Phoenix if Graham gets a PD gig there. He is dreadful on the air and 1280's ratings are in the garbage. One of the worst-sounding sports-talk stations I have heard in a major market.

pretty sure SLC isn't considered a major sports market.
