I stopped listening to KSL completely, just over a year ago. Most of that decision was based on the fact that Utah's "flagship" station couldn't seem to find a better use for their prime afternoon broadcast slot than 3 hours of unchallenged syndicated political indoctrination with nearly no direct relevance to the state of Utah.
If KSL wants to focus again on reporting news, and take up its place at the top of the legitimate broadcast journalism heap in this state, I'll happily tune in again. I would love to hear another source for local news.
I just don't care to be told what to think.

The only time I listen now to KSL is if some major local news is breaking, or there are big traffic issues. On the other hand, Bonneville knows how to do it better -- WTOP in Washington, DC is a wonderful station, as is WFED. (I travel to DC frequently, so I listen to them regularly.) So I am hopeful that once Hannity is canned that KSL will start doing it better and getting me listening again. KSL used to be my favorite station.

Oh please break free from Hanity! He always cuts off his callers and years ago I had to stop listening altogether. With someone less annoying KSL could get me to listen again. Please put in someone that opines about current events but doesn't yell and talk over callers. Further, please don't extend the aweful news programing that gives us 2 minutes of news and 8 minutes of commercials and teases. Another thing that could bring me back is if the personalities would stop saying "traffic and weather together" 50 times an hour. KSL the ball is in your court and I want to come back. Please give me a reason.

I can confirm that KSL plans to dump Hannity at the end of his contract.

Here's another story on this. www.rbr.com/radio/25461.htmlNote the last paragraph, the editor's note. Says something about the industry generally to a degree.

I've already contacted Joe Redburn and told him to send KSL Radio an audition tape.
I'd love to have someone on there who can keep the local news flowing, while still maintaining a good, tight talk show at the same time. Hannity couldn't do it, so there was a whole block of time with no local radio news.
Whad'da 'ya think? Would Joe be a good choice?
