Hi guys I know this isn't directly related to the "metro" but I figured there'd be a lot of readers here interested so I thought I'd give it a whirl. First off, KEVA AM Stereo 1240 here in Evanston changed format around labor day. We're now 60s/70s/early 80s - basically today's definition of "oldies". In addition to try to garner additional listenership we've also put up a full-time web stream of the station - with the exception of course of when ballgames are on. Can't stream those. Since KEVA is the only station we have now (FM went away....that's another story) we're doing everything we can to make it the best it can be. That included new tubes for the transmitter and some extreme tedious tweaking by yours truly for the best stereo sound. The web stream is a line directly off of the Motorola C-quam AM Stereo monitor. So if you've ever wanted to hear true beautiful AM stereo, listen to the feed. I know there are a few engineers who have told me "you shouldn't use the modulation monitor for a web stream". My point is I did that ON PURPOSE to showcase how great AM and AM Stereo can and DOES sound. So.....enjoy and let me know what you think! www.kevaonline.comMichael n Wyo
