Was there some kind of complete meltdown of the KSRR transmitter? Until yesterday, K-Star was off the air for about two weeks. Most of that time there was no carrier signal, indicating to me a complete powering down of the transmitter. So I assume some vital component of it died.
Also, sister station KQMB went off the air a couple of days before KSRR came back on the air. That makes me wonder whether the station manager cannibalized some doodad from the KQMB transmitter (or the Provo repeater) to fix the KSRR transmitter.
Anyone know whether the Levan main is off the air for KQMB or if it is just the Provo repeater? I suspect the main is also off because the country station from Logan is coming in clearly in Provo on 96.7.
Do transmitter replacement parts just take a long time to arrive? Or is the station ownership short on funds? I suspect the latter since there is hardly ever an ad on KQMB.
