KNRS-HD2 has split from simulcasting the classic rock format also heard on KJMY-HD2 and the 99.1 translator, and is now broadcastintg a canned alternative format with no DJs called 'Music Summit. The format is operated by Clear Channel.
No idea when this actually happened, but it appears to have taken place within the last few days.
105.7's HD2 channel has gone through more formats than about any other, first trying oldies, then I think a current country format, then having talk (AM 570 simulcast) then the classic country and classic rock formats, and now this alternative format. While the main frequency has finally found something that will stay around for years to come with the switch to talk, one has to wonder why they can't get the HD2 formats to work. One more rock format in this market is not going to work either, the market is already oversaturated with rock of any kind.

It does boggle the mind that we have a radio station on almost every available frequency and yet little true variety. I was in Atlanta last week and heard a station there running a format it called "The Journey". It was an 80s and 90s soft rock format. Nothing like that hear. About 2/3s of the songs played are songs that none of the local stations have on their play lists.

I think a late 80's/90's country station would be sweet. Like Sirius used to have called Prime Country. That was a great station. Takers??

I'd absolutely LOVE it if Channel 1057 came back. Sure, we have an ass-load of rock chans here in the valley but hey, that channel was awesome (imo). Ever since 'The Blaze' left the airwaves I've pretty much stopped listening to mainstream radio. (With a little venturing into KRCL now and again seeing as their HD-2 Signal is back on the air)
Remember Mad Dog 1023/1039? Those were the good old days....

I know of an HD station that might work. I don't know if it is a good idea to put on KNRS. But there needs to be an HD station called God's Country. I remember being in Boise Idxaho a few years ago and that format was around. I looked it op on the internet. They do have HD affiliates
