I was flipping through stations this morning and found 106.5 is now a classic rock station. No christmas music or sounds of the sabbath. New web site as well www.rock1065.com.

I wonder if Showtunes Saturday Night is now looking for a new home.

Right now it's jockless, and largely predictable. Using the same jingle set with the only difference being the frequency, that 99.1 (as alternate availability to KJMY-HD2) is using.
This actually leaves Salt Lake without a true full-market soft-AC. FM-100 (KSFI) is claiming soft hits, but is more of a hybrid soft-AC/hot-AC combo. I actually think a fair number of listeners to KOSY will move online to Pandora, Accuradio, and other services for their music.
Sounds of the Sabbath listeners will move to KSFI, that will be where the big gains are there. However, any who want similar to what KOSY had will go to Mormon Music Channel online, or one of several other LDS-themed online stations.
If you lump all the rock formats and stations that have a good selection of rock songs in their playlist stogether including alternative, and also all the stations that are only partial-market stationns due to power or class limitations, you have 16 stations airing some kind of rock format. CHR/Hot AC has five, country has four, and AC has one.
Something has got to give on this matter soon, and this may explain why rock formats other than Arrow 103.5 and X96 are not doing well generally, the oversaturation of the market. This one's target is clearly Arrow 103.5, so unless they get a dang good PD, MD, and on-air staff, this one will flounder like all the rest.
