Late yesterday, Cumulus flipped KENZ 101.9 Ogden/Salt Lake from classic alternative to classic hits, leaning more towards rock hits.
The station is currently jockless, and has, quite frankly, crappy imaging at the outset.
This is another attempt to siphon off Arrow 103.5 listeners, but this one is closer to that format than 106.5 is. 106.5 has never gone above a 2.5 in the 6+ PPMs since it hit the air, and I doubt the new 101.9 will do any better.
One problem with 94.1 and 106.5 is that after 7pm, it's largely national content, no local people on either station. Having local people on-air from 5ammidnight does make a difference in a station's ratings I think.

That is kind of strange. Cumulous also owns K-Bear, which at some point stopped playing new Rock and switched to Classic Rock. Perhaps Cumulous will try to use K-Bear for the harder classic Rock and use KENZ for the more mellow stuff.
Speaking of Classic Rock, 103.5 has lately IMHO, been moving along the Classic Hits spectrum towards straight Classic Rock. It is not there yet, but 103.5 has played songs and bands in the past few months that I never thought I would hear a Bonneville station play.

There's more now on this.;
Mick and Allen have moved to morning drive on KBER.
Bob and Tom (syndicated) has moved to 101.9.
OK, looks like the classic rock/classic hits spectrum of stations is all situation normal, all screwed up. Bonneville will win this one because they air a deeper playlist, including some rare tracks on their '10 at 10' show. They also have live hosts in all dayparts, all live, all local.
