Christmas formats and programming this year, 2013, a wrap up.
Stations flipping all-Christmas: KMGR, KSFI, KBEE, KEGA/KEGH/KAUU.
Stations adopting format within last few days of Christmas Day itself, usually on Christmas Eve although occasionally they started earlier as noted.
KBYU (last week or so), KUER-HD3 (last few days), KYCC (last two days), KKLV/KNKL (Dec. 23), KLGL (Christmas Eve), KSOP (Christmas Eve).
KYFO included Christmas music extensively as it always has throughout the period from Thanksgiving forward. Same likely true for KUFR.
Ironically for a religious station, KBJF 90.5 and CSN International translators in the state regardless of location did not air any Christmas music, a few ministry shows mentioned Christmas in sermons in the last couple of days, but no Christmas format per se. Also ironically, KBJF went off the air on Christmas Eve and as of the time of this post was still off the air. I also found the 88.3 translator for that one (began rebroadcasting KBJF and not the KAWZ network feed about two weeks ago) was rebroadcasting KBYU-FM albeit with an annoying whirring sound in the signal, which was not present in the main KBYU feed or the 89.5 translator.
