Has anyone else seen this? What did you think?
I LOVE Shia. He was a great kid actor and now that he is an adult, he is going to be an exceptional leading man if he wants to land those types of roles.
See him in Disturbia when it comes out on DVD. He is good. Greatest Game Ever Played; I, Robot and Constantine are also major movies he has done since entering adulthood. All are worth watching for his performances alone.
I saw Transformers and loved Shia but wasn't that into the rest of the movie. Did you guys see the same movie, I saw? Should I see it again because I need glasses? What did you think?

I found it just riveting! Not much on story line, but if you think about it, transformers was a half hour show anyhow so there's about that much depth to the story. Incredible CGI and FX. Non-stop action and LOVED the old skool sound effects of them transforming. Couple nags: Bumblebee was a VW Beetle, not a super-tite 2009 Camaro. Apparently, GM had exclusive auto rights in the movie.
I thought it was great and the jury is still out whether or not I take my four year old Wyatt to see it. Help me out. Too intense? Too violent?

Thanks, Timmy. A number of professional reviewers found it riveting too. I loved the FX, but wasn't into the story. I thought it took to long to get going. I thought the storyline between Shia and the girl kept the movie semi-interesting, but if not for those two, the the movie lacked substance for the first hour. Maybe I saw a different movie. Should I give it another chance? Heck, I know what to expect from the parts I thought were lacking... This is so stupid, because once I see a dumb movie, I never go back to it again, but I don't know... this one is different. I feel like maybe I wasn't paying attention. I like the sound effects too, but after a few minutes, I felt like it was to loud, during the robot scenes. My head began to pound because of all the old skool metallic noise! In my theatre, I sat next to three four year old triplets. (They were not with us) They were not riveted by the movie and did not pay attention to it that much at all. They were not scared by the noise or the size of the robots. They did have EXCELLENT manners and were quiet during the entire movie. They did watch when Shia's Transformer was talking and they loved that! I think it would be ok to take your son... Um, maybe take some little earplugs though I think I will go see it again... This is something I would never do for "Ishtar", "Mixed Nuts", or "Wild, Wild West"...
