Let's be hypathetical for a second, shall we! Lets say we whipe the slate clean and just have 4 rock stations again. We'll make it X96, KBear, The End, and Rock 99. Don't bother arguing with me that the others will be around much longer, because I'm willing to put stock in the fact that Channel and Mad Dog won't be here longer than 6 more months. And I do realize that leaving out KJQ is going to get a bunch of people nit-picking and whining that I didn't include them, but oh well. I'm only counting stations that have been here longer than 5 years. If you don't like it, sue me.
With that said, that makes room for someone else to make some kind of upstart chance at the top dogs. So putting yourself in the shoes of the top brass, what would you d if you were told to make a new rock station, and what format would it be?
Please bare with me, I do realize that there are far more choices than what I've given you. If you don't like the choices, click OTHER and say what you'd want! I do believe the entire point of polls is to have people participate and give feedback. Not look and take off. As Ringo Starr once said... "Opinion's Are Like &$#holes. Everyone's got one." FLAUNT YOURS!

Neat poll. Just wanted to point out that if you're going to include Classic Rock 99 you need to mention KRSP-FM Arrow 103.5 too.

Do we REALLY need another rock station in town? Why not fix one of the five we already have into what you want it to be? I don't think ANOTHER rock station would solve any rock problems. It would likely play the same songs that are already on the air....

Forgot Arrow...
Do we really need a seventh rock station?

Sorry, I personally consider Arrow to be more on the level of Oldies 94.1, since that's the direction it seems to be headed in. Not saying it doesn't matter, just saying I've thought of it more as n Oldies station than a rock station. Sorry about that one, just my opinion.
To condradict kc7, there are stations out there that actually do that. Take a look at the Seattle area, and the Underground music station KAOS. Need I remind you that's where most bands out of the Seattle area got their start on the air, like Soundgarden, Mudhoney, Alice In Chains, and Nirvana!
And fib, I dare you to go to Millcreek or Clear Channel and tell them to fix their stations up. It's my understanding that both feel that it's the best they can do with both. If anything, KCPX and KMDG will be discontinued this year and be given to their CHR/POP sister stations for extra broadcast space.

KMDG will be discontinued this year and be given to their CHR/POP sister stations for extra broadcast space. Just to clarify, KMDG has already received that "privilege." Its KWKD 102.3 that is now "Mad Dog."

They need to bring back a format like K-Rock was.. They had the newer stuff plus llike the hair bands 80's early 90's and Import rock since most of the hair bands went over seas or whatever since nirvana and thoes bands came out and killed the hair bands GRRRRRRRR! The had the lost and found show on sunday nights where they had bands that no one had heard for a long time it was just a great station and someone needs to bring a format like that back!!

Gee, such passion in what you type. You act like you already tried it. And I'm well aware on how it started too, so please don't like like every other idoit in radio who claims to know everything.

As far as hairbands go, we play alot of that junk. Quite Riot, Twisted Sister, Warrent, The Scorps, Ozzy, Def Lep, etc. We have that covered. By the way I'm the one vote for grunge, what can I say I'm 27, That was my era. But Kurt Cobain can still eat me!

Honestly, no. The Rock audience's taste, kind of evolved, to include everything, ac/dc to zombie, with a little kix thrown in. But I do a hairy hour from 10 to 11 on saturday night's. Gimmie a call and I'll hook you up.
