Weds Rocks is living proof that the 97.5 The Blaze is still going strong!!! You can give someone a racing car, but you need a good driver and a great pit crew. So citadel can have the car keys and 97.5 The blaze will just put our drivers and pit crew on a new car.

A Pinto won't beat a Mustang... I don't care who's driving!

So...are we to assume that Citadel stole a Pinto? Is that why their sales force is giving away the station like a start up? After the 'press release' about how great the station was...perhaps they have little faith in their ability to maintain the listeners....doesn't seem to be working too well for the advertisers either...

Okay so I'm pretty freakin confused about what is going on. One day 2-3 weeks ago I turned to 94.9 and it was static. I was told by someone else that The Blaze was kicked off the air and right before that happened, ads were about "Save The Blaze!".
A day or two later, it was supposedly back. It sounded like The Blaze and so I assumed everything was cool. I noticed that for a week they didn't play ads. And one time they even said "94.9 ROCK! thanks to you we're back!" I'm like oh sweet this is The Blaze! One problem, they never said 94.9 The Blaze, they always said "We rock!".
So a few days ago I wanted to listen on the web so I search for 94.9 the blaze, go to TheBlazeonline.com and right there it says "We moved to 97.5". By then I was really confused, so I turned on the radio and heard you guys saying "Some of you are pretty pissed that we moved. [It's like 30 stations higher and 100 for utah county] So we are giving away cash".
Okay so then why is the old 94.9 coping out The Blaze? Isn't that illegal? Isn't it copyrighted? Especially for 94.9 rocks to fake us out and say "Thanks to your support we're back!". They are most definitly NOT back, they never left. They're new. (Right?) That's just freakin low for them to claim to be The Blaze like that. You can't buy someone's station then claim to be them and even say "We're back" like as if they were The Blaze!!
Also I've noticed that now 97.5 The Blaze has changed their voice or whatever and let me tell you it sounds like freakin crap. Why did you guys let this happen?
Please someone tell me EVERYTHING that's going on! I am so confused out of my mind! And what is the whole "Fighting corperate radio" about? Why did The Blaze move stations? Why does the old station sound and talk EXACTLY like The Blaze? Did you give them the equipment or something? How exactly does that work?
Also just a quick note, I've noticed that 97.5 doesn't get good signle as well as 94.9. Some places I can't get 97.5 at all so I am forced to listen to other stations. That's a problem right there.

OKay so looking at the new call letters and the coverage, 97.5 is based above Provo where are 94.9 is based on the other side of the lake covering Provo the best. Because of this, 97.5 covers Provo is light red and goes into blue and purple the rest of the way down. This was a bad idea to change! No wonder I can't get 97.5 good, the blue cuts into Orem and Pleasent Grove. Which is why I can't get The Blaze very well and I can get 94.9 very well. Smooth thinking guys. I miss The Blaze!

Overmind: You need to re-read the posts in this section and that will give you a better idea of what happened. Also, while "sneaky," Citadel's move to keep rock on 94.9 is not illegal. The FCC will not approve any transfer of license from one entity to another where there exists any clause that might prohibit the new operators from placing a similar format on the corresponding frequency. By the way, you lost me when you talk about "red and blue." Are you referring to some type of a signal strength meter?

Mike since you missed everything that was written above your post and you also missed everything that was posted on our website and you also missed everything that was said on the air and you also missed the mass text that went out and you also missed the mass e-mail that went out..let's have you check my blog: blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog&Mytoken=CED13290-59CA-404D-A16C86769B19014589314007Scroll all the way down and read the "David vs. Goliath" post. Maybe that will answer some of your questions. Please don't think this was our choice. We didn't "let" this happen. This wasn't our idea. But feel free to lay the blame at our feet anyway. Actually scratch that. Just start with the blog. If you have further questions, don't hesitate to ask. At this point, it would probably be best to Private Massage me so we don't drag everyone else back through the drama they're already way too familiar with.

I think 105.1 would come in better in Provo too. I saw the busboard up at the BYU campus!

I don't mean the format, I mean 4 utah radio stations play similar formats, so similar that sometimes I hear the same song on 2 or 3 stations at one time or one after another. lol
What I mean is 94.9 is playing the same sweepers and pretending to be The Blaze. I was so convinced before I saw TheBlazeOnline.com website. They even said in the same voice as The Blaze "Thanks to your support we are back!". That led me to believe that they were the blaze.
Do you get what I mean?
ROG: I can't read that blog post, it takes me to my myspace profile page. Is there another way I can read it? Oh and I was just listening to the real blaze. You guys still freakin rock! I love the sweepers "The REVOLUTION will NOT die!"
Edit: I found a blog post but it only said how 94.9 was coping you guys out. I still have no idea what's going on.
I was on 94.9 for a while and I heard a sweeper from Marcus in the morning stating "Listen to Marcus in the Morning on Tuesday 7AM for a major Metallica announcment."
and I also heard a sweeper in Marcus's voice, "(yells) Marcus in the Morning, attention Metallica fans this coming Tuesday at 7 AM, yes right after memorial day at 7 AM I have a special announcement regrading Metallica tickets and how you can get some before anyone else on your block!.....[PAUSE].....Marcus in the Morning only on 94.9"
Wow! What a bunch of ---- loosers. They are really coping out all of your ideas, even for tickets too!

I was wondering, whats going to happen to KBER and can they even have 2 rockstations like that in the same company? Oh yeah, totally. Two different stations, two different studios, completely different people. And besides that, they probably aren't even in the 94.9 studio. They don't need to be, it's all automated. They probably haven't been in their in days.

No I mean like legally can they have 2 rock stations at one company? The FCC couldn't care less if a company wants to practice cannibalism!

Apparently Rog & I assume the rest of the Blaze group are not very fond of Marcus. So Marcus is gone!
